Red indicates that the vote followed the position of Equality North Dakota.
The first vote on SB 2216, the Safe Schools bill, was too complicated to interpret clearly. The bill was gutted to such an extent in the Senate that many supporters actually voted against it. It was therefore difficult to determine just exactly what a "yes" vote or a "no" vote meant in this case.
Only the second vote on SB 2216 was counted when determining a senator's percentage of support for the Equality North Dakota position. The four votes in italics were used to compute the final percentage.
The vote on HB 1175, which would have repealed the state's anti-cohabitation law, is being included here for informational purposes. Equality North Dakota took no official position or action on this bill.
